The website contains assignments which assist the teaching and learning of legal writing and legal research. These assignments are easily accessible, student-friendly assessment exercises, which aim to aid the student in the learning process. The assignments follow the learning experience set out in the textbook, and so are numbered by reference to sections in the book. They can, however, be attempted without reference to the textbook, to revise and check your knowledge on legal writing issues. If you have been directed here by your module coordinator, please follow their instructions in completing the assignments on the website. This resource is an ongoing project for us, and we appreciate feedback from course coordinators, module leaders and students. Our textbook, "How to Think, Cite and Write", was awarded the Kevin Boyle Book Prize for Best Text Written Primarily for Students and/or Practitioners by the Irish Association of Law Teachers in 2017. The judges said: "This unique text aims to provides students who are new to law with clear and practical guidance on mastering essential skills for legal study. The Council felt that this book more than achieves this aim and indeed does so in a highly innovative, comprehensive and accessible way. A major strength of the book is that in addressing 'threshold concepts' of law such as the law of precedent, etc. the authors were careful not to assume any knowledge. It therefore expertly addresses areas where students may often get 'stuck' in the curriculum. The Council feel quite sure that this book will have a real and significant impact on the teaching of law in Ireland."
